Dr. Maciej Bartosiewicz
Office room number 131
Maciej is investigating the physical, chemical, and biological structuring of lakes with implications for development of cyanobacterial blooms, microbial processing and exchange of greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4 and N2O). His current project focuses on new processes involved in methane production in the epilimnion of Lake Lugano. This particular effort will aim to quantify the amount of methane that is produced as a result of plankton activities and estimate effects of warming and eutrophication on this production.
